When I start my automatic 850 glt, frequently the gears won't shift and I have to press the shiftlock override button. Everytime this happens, the ABS light on the dash pops up. I don't understand the connection and would LOVE some advice on how to remedy this annoying glitch.

99% of the time that is a bad electrical part of the ignition switch.

 

I'd also check your brake light switch, next time see if the brake lights are working.
