Default weird climate control/electrical problem

I'd appreciate any feedback and suggestions on this problem I'm having.

Recently purchased 94 850 Turbo wagon.

Sometimes in the middle of driving, the AC system, fan blower and all the control on the climate control systems (including fan speed adjustment) would completely stop working. So, no fan, no air, does not respond to any control adjustments, everything just go dead.

However, if you just pull over, shutoff the engine, the restart the car, then all the climate controls returns to normal again.

Any idea what this could be?

I experienced similar symtoms a year ago. Turns out the blower motor was going out. When the motor draws too much current , the system shuts down. Try controlling the blower speed manually using a slower speed. If the system stays running, you might need a new blower motor. Fairly easy to change.

I think the above is more likely the cause but you could also try to move the ignition key instead of turning the engine off. Sometimes when the ignition switch is going out different systems will act up or shut down. Don't turn the key far enough to engage the starter but move it a little forward and backward to see if the system comes back. I'd pull over and put it in park first. If that trick does work it means you're due for a new switch soon.
