Default Weird problem

Did some searching and found a couple of things. But I want to get some ideas for my issue. I was running up I-70 the other day and here in CO elevation is always an issue. I don't think elevation hhas anything to do with the issue, but I want to make sure you all realize the situation. Doing about 80mph up the highway and the car starts to cut out. Right at about 3000 rpm. Continues to cut out as though it were a fuel issue. By the way, I had just filled up at Conoco with my usual 91 octane. Car had sat about 2 weeks. Long story short, had to tow it home. Car idles perfectly. No issues, but when you rev it, it cuts out and typically stalls. WTF?! I am running about 12psi, have just a drop in K&N filter. So what the hell is the issue? I am considering MAF sensor, vacuum (schematics for vacuum (sp?) anyone?), fuel delivery..., bad gas. Thanks

Did you get a check engine light? i had a similiar situation here in Oregon screaming up the Ashland grade and had the same cutting out. After cresting problem went away. On the return trip back from CA same thing happened. Fault codes showed missfires. Did tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor. No more troubles.

Yeah, I think I am going to do exactly that. Easy to do as well. Seems like an ignition or fuel problem if you ask me. So I will definitely do at least cap/rotor and plugs/wires. Ashland, OR eh? Definitely been through there a few times. Beautiful country man. Very nice. Nice chicks too in Ashland, hehe.

By the way, no CEL. I think it is definitely vacuum. I ordered the tune-up kit inc. cap/rotor, and then bought performance plug wires, all from IPD. So we shall see.

hey mine did the same thing! i live in Empire Co I70 & Hwy 40.
last night i started my 850 turbo and found that the coil has an arc in side of the coil. Iam now looking for a new coil. the part is not easy to find in Denver so i will have to order it on the internet. my CEL did come on though and the OBD 11 read p01333 came up witch is bank 1 sensor 1 slow responce. i have been told the same as you. (plugs, wires, dist cap rotor and check the coil.

Yeah, again, I oredered IPD's tune kit. I will most likely order their performance ignition setup. Supposed to be pretty sweet.
