I have an 850T 94' wagon. Dealership can't help me can you? White smoke billows out tailpipe after initial running ,then rest and then the smoke,w/ aweird smell. 1500.00 later still smokes? Help! rjmombo
You're sure the smoke is white and does not have a hint of blue?
And see if can smell fuel in the reservoir. Open the cap when the engine is stone cold and smell for fuel/look for a hint of fuel in there, that is, if the coolant is still visible as info2x has noted.
The best thing to do is either to have the cooling system pressure-tested or have the engine compression-tested.

Sounds like coolant or excess fuel burning. Based on the reported weird smell I'm leaning toward coolant. I would do as JPN suggested, pressure test teh cooling system first, and if that turns up ok, do a compression check on the engine. Might be a leaky head gasket
