Hi,

I'm new here. I have a '98 XC70 with about 160,000 and I am having lovely white puffy clouds jump from the exhaust at odd intervals. It does run fine however. My first inclination is that it is a head gasket, but I really know very little on turbos. I'm in the process of cleaning the MAP and throttle body. Any ideas for a newby?

PS. I apologize for posting this on the XC90 thread. I hit the wrong button. I know, new people!

 

Maybe a headgasket leaking a slight bit and burning.
The turbo being bad is usually Blue smoke.

 

in your experience are any of the "quick" fix products for sealing a head gasket worth the effort?

 

NONE AT ALL.
