Default Window weather strip

Have a '93 850glt and need some weather stripping for it. Specifically the driver's door window seal - not the bottom part, but the seal that goes up and around to seal it when it's closed. Mine has about a 3" crimp so the window doesn't close all the way and creates wind noise. It doesn't leak or anything, but the wind noise is a little annoying. Anyone know where I can get it at a reasonable price???

I am not sure if you will be able to find the part that you are looking for without asking a dealer [:@].

I have never seen this type of issue before and I am curious as to how this may have happened?

Unless you can find a u-pull-it yard and can find one in good condition and go that route you may have to just live with it or come up with your own solution.

Have you tried to gently pry and tap the piece back into place? It would be difficult but may be possible.

Nice shot with the camera phone and sorry [&o] I cannot be of more help.

Yea, I was afraid that this may be a dealer part - Will check pull it yards, but they NEVER have FWD Volvo's in any of them around here :\

I have no idea how it happened, it's been like this ever since I bought the car a few years ago and am just getting around to replacing weather stripping.

No, I haven't tried "uncrimping" it yet, I'm shooting for an ideal solution by replacing it. I don't like "cob jobs" and would rather spend a few bucks if feasible.

I am the same way. I would rather do it right the first time than go back again and again.

I hope you can find the piece you need.

Will that weatherstrip cross through all the model years? I just called the local pull it yard and they have a 95 and a 97 850 in the yard!!! Whoo!!! I think I may have to go there for lunch and have a little fun

I would think 94-97 would all be the same.

Keep us posted on what you find. You saved me taking a picture of mine. Have the same problem with the wife's drivers door. [:@] Would love to find a solution. If Tech cannot fanagle it back into place on his I know I may as well not even look at it. Curious to find out what you learn and how hard it is to replace.
Thanks,
Rob

You can also try www.thevolvosite.com. Looks like they carry window weatherstripping. If I am looking at the diagrams correctly, the part you need looks like one they sell for about $61.
