Default Wiper Arm

Hi All,

Belated holiday greetings!!

Well, I guess it was colder than I thought this morning, and my wipers were frozen solid. Unwittingly, I put them on and the drivers side worked, the passenger side didn't. I looked and eased the blade off the screen but then disaster.

The wiper arm travelled right across the passenger side and in to the path of the driver side wiper. shredding that blade. Now it seems that the passenger arm will travel anywhere it wants, and offers no resistance. Its dark and I just got home from the office, I'll look in the daylight but does anyone have any experience or advice to offer?

Many thanks and a happy New Year to all.

Yes, it's pretty easy. Open the hood and there is a little flap like thing over a nut on the end of the wiper blade. Lift that flap, losen the nut, move the blade to the off position and then tighten the nut.

Hi Jim,

I actually looked in the daylight and all became obvious and as you said, an easy fix.

I don't have a flap, but, the nut was loose and all is now secure, pity I didn't notice that before I shredded the wiper blades that I put on 4 days ago, such is life

Many thanks for the advice.
