Man, that car is NOT clean. I'd like to think that I have a trained eye for internet car photos and there is a lot of evidance that the car is worn. The antenna is 1/2 up, the right front finder is darker, the dash is warped, head light wipers are out of alignment (likely broken - a real bear to fix), the bumpers are grey, front spoiler is cracked, floor mat missing, spoiler scrapped, and the lighter is missing.

I do like the wood door panel inserts and the guage panel in the center.

Looks like another Turbo 850 in the background.

So, it appears that there are 6 Yellow T-5R's for sale right now. Here is my take:

1. The wagon in Canada, $9,600. Price seems high, also, it may be a hastle to get it in the USA with customs, emissions, etc. I would still go for it if the price was right.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

2. The one in the Dallas area for $1,995. I believe it is really a yellow r because of the vin. If the turbo & engine isn't shot it might be worth it. I have seen these T-5's ragged to the ground. Still a yellow one for under $2,000 is tough to pass on.

3. The one in IL that is like new, under 22,000 miles. I actually think it is worth every penny. If money was not an issue for me, I would purchase it and only drive it to car shows where I would display it and hand out flyers that tells people about it.

4. There is one in the Louisville area that no one has mentioned. Looks very nice for under $8,000. Looks pretty clean but by the looks of the interior photos the AC is NOT working. Someone needs to get it at a better price because of the AC.

5. The one in New Zeland... Thanks for the info. Nothing we can do about that.

6. And our fine lady in the Milwaukee area that wants $2,500 (wheels in storage). Doesn't seem bad for a runing rare car. If it's not rusted out and runs well I would go for it as well.

I guess we can call this thread "The Yellow T-5R sale alert thread".

Yes, most were sold on the coast. I went to NYC to get mine. Now there is 2 of them in Arkansas.

I just went and looked at it. The interior is in Awesome shape, besides a little bit of wear on the driver's bolster and some slight cracking on the passenger seat, it looks new. The exterior is in alright shape. Very minor rust on the bottom of the trunk lid, there are several small dings scattered about, the spoiler is cracked (I don't know if you could use plastic weld or have to replace it). The roof and trunk lid are pretty faded, and driver's fender's paint looks a little newer than the rest of the car. However, on the good note, only 2 owners of the car and it has been serviced by Jenkin's Volvo here in Milwaukee since it was new. There are also 213k miles on it.

I'm considering it, the only down fall is that for 2500 I could put an engine with less than 100k miles and an M56H into my wagon. I took some pictures and I'll put them up later so anyone else who may be interested can see what it looks like.

None of those problems sound very bad to me. I would go for it for $2500. Offer $2,000 and see where that goes. You can fix the spoiler of find one from a 96 97 R like I did and replace it. Looks much better too.

My wagon isn't worth anything. It doesn't run.

Well, they're actually asking 2900 for it, that 2900 would be with out the pegs because they have new tires on them, otherwise it would come with steelies for the 2500.

Your right, it isn't a bad price, but it's just the amount of money I would have to spend to make the car look really good again, and that doesn't count any of the the fun stuff I want to do.

Not a bad price at all for a real car. as of now, $2,900 comes with the Stock Gray Titanium 5 spoke 17" alloy wheels on Pirelli P-Zero 205/45 ZR17 tires with about 95% tread left and a set of snow tires. It seams like she really does not want to sell it. Where else can you find that much speed and comfort in a car for under 3 grand. She is firm on the price and this is still her daily driver.
The small stuff gilber33 pointed out is normal wear and tear for a 200,000 mile driver. Sorry about the price change. I'll Know she will be serious about selling it when she buys another Volvo and parks the yellow one.

Right, it is a fair price. I have seen a few other yellows with similar mileage/wear and tear and what you are asking is a fair price. I wasn't trying to say that it wasn't.

UUUHHH YEAH! Haha, not that surprised, I'm surprised it didn't sell, but I'm not surprised it didn't sell at that price.

Let me know if the girl would like to sell the wheels and tires. I don't have the original Titans for my T5R and would like to have a set if the price is right. Right now I have the 7 spoke Volans on my T5R. They belong on the white car, but I have 15" wheels on it. Much smoother ride with the 15" wheels, and that is what the wife wants.

I think I would pay $7,500 for the wagon if the import problems are not to bad. As for the one the lady has for $2,900, if I did not already have one I would go for it. The body can probably be fixed and re-painted for under $2,000.

Also, I patched my seat where the suede was worn through with some material from Hobby Lobby and it looks great. Can't even tell it was ever worn. The hole was about the size of a nickel.

I don't know man, I know it's a pretty good deal, but I just feel like the exterior would need a lot of work with all the dings and what not. I'm teetering on the edge of it. I have my wagon though that I basically got for free and I really wanted a wagon.

As soon as you say what the heck and go to buy it, it will be sold. It has happened to me more than once. So you better get moving and buy the darn thing.

I gave him a call today and going to have him do a compression test on it. If it has good numbers it will sway me even more to it.

These cars are known to oxidize real bad, even worse than red. So what looks like faded trunk and roof may come out just fine with a coat of wax or maybe clay bar it. Mine looked so bad when I first looked at it that I was not going to buy it. It was at a dealer and the sales lady had them come out and polish the hood while I was there and it was almost like magic. Now I have to wax the car three times more often than my other cars to keep the shine and color just right.

Yeah, I kind of thought about that, a couple other people had mentioned that to me. It still has a bunch of dings and dents, some that I know wouldn't be able to pop out and I would have to replace a few exterior panels and then paint those. We'll see what he says about the compression test. I don't mind doing some body work, but it's just when I have to pay so much for the car first to do body work and then if it needs engine work, it will be less tempting.

My wagon had so many dings and dents when I bought it that I could not believe it. I had my bother in law check it out before going 450 miles to buy and we asked him if he needed his eyes checked. But I took it to a local guy that used to work for Dent Lizard and he took every single ding and dent out of the car for about $300. One on the hood was really bad and he got it to where you really had to look to see where it was. The rest you could not even tell where the were.

yeah, well, we'll see, I guess what it boils down to is the compression test. We're going to do that this weekend. Like I said before, I don't want to get this and then do a ton of engine work on for the price I'm paying, and compression test will tell a lot.
