Default Bluetooth for playing music from phone

New to the forum and recent owner of 2011 C30 T5 R- Design - has factory connectivity with phone to transmit and receive calls only; not able to play music from phone; is there a work around? How do I enable music playing AND still retain the factory ability to make calls?

I found something much less complicated and more effective. It still allows the installed hands free phones bluetooth to work as advertised but now I can play music through my Android/iPhone simply by plugging this into the 3.5mm port located in the arm rest cubby. it can remain stand alone plugged in and require charging as needed; but if you connect the supplied USB-A cable to this device and have it plugged into the USB-A port in the same cubby, you have everything you need. Please be aware there no apps that come with this. You control there music directly from your phone. It only cost $16.00. Heres the link to this bluetooth device. Enjoy!!

Not all Volvos have the auxiliary jack socket. Mine hasn’t.

check out Crutchfields to see what they have - Grom made adaptors that used the CD-changer port to support phones etc. 2011 was back when the base units only used bluetooth for phone commands.

Good discussion about the Bluetooth music issue in the Volvo C30. If your phone pairs but no audio comes through, try switching the car stereo’s source manually — some older models need you to select “BT Audio” or “Media” each time. Firmware updates or aftermarket adapters can also fix it. I’ve had similar setup frustrations, and using intermittent fasting app https://wellness-app.com/ actually helped me stay patient and take breaks instead of getting annoyed during troubleshooting.
Thanks for information!
