Default C30 engine shuts off when going uphill

Hi all,

new member here. Thought i'd join as i have the following issue:
I'm driving a 2010 C30 1.6D.

When going uphill and shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, it loses all power. I have to turn off the ignition and turn it on again to start the engine. After this and willing to continue driving, the same thing happens again. On flat surfaces, she drives fine, gets enough power, no problem accelerating, going through gears and she flies (as much as a 1.6D can fly).
The road it occurred on is a road I've used daily with the C30 for the past 2 years so it's not that i don't know how to shift when going uphill
There is a warning showing "reduced engine performance". Have had a read out done and there were some errors, but after clearing it, they were gone. The "reduced Engine Performance" warning is still showing though. Even with the warning, i do not feel there is a loss of power at all when driving.

anyone an idea?

Appreciate any tips.

Thanks!
