Shaking in steering wheel during hard acceleration

Shaking in steering wheel during hard acceleration
2009 c30 T5-R design/ 6 speed manual
Over the last month I've noticed an issue with my steering; steering response has been slow and the overall steering feels loose. Car clunks in both front and rear at slow speeds over any sort of obstruction in the road. If I try to accelerate hard in first or second gear the wheel shakes horribly as if the tires are about to fall off.
Had my mechanic take a look at it and he said it really doesnt look bad for what I am describing. Rear control arms, passenger tie rod(outer/inner) and a cv axle.
My question is what else could cause this problem? From what my mechanic was telling me, I should not be experiencing issues this severe for how minimal my suspension damage is.
Thanks for your time-
