Can I put fog lights into a 2013 C30 T5?

 

The dealer, VCNA and your owner's manual are not all wrong.

 

Quite right - I never thought when pre-ordering the car to specify fog lights. Fog lights seem like a normal component on a $30,000 vehicle. The few C30's I saw has fog lights. The additional safety they provide seems part of a Volvo's appeal. I was wrong on all counts.

 

I have a 2013 C30 rdesign. They come with led day light running lights in lieu of fog lamps. The "regular" (non rdesign) can be retrofitted with fog lamps. Incidentally I have the Polestar upgrade which makes a big difference overall. I also have an Elevate rear bar and a Eurosport "big brake kit" installed along with their stress bar. I use EBC red stuff pads and I have drilled rear discs. I use H & R 3/4 inch spacers on all four hubs. You should upgrade!
Incidentally I also bought a 2013 S60 T6 AWD rdesign with the platinum pkg. Now that is a vehicle that simply screams!

I plan to make the upgrades to the Polestar chip plus better brakes and the suspension. The local Volvo dealer says that to retrofit fog lights would require a new wiring harness and he won't do it. Kind of a bummer because the car looks better and is safer to drive with fog lights.
