Default C30R with 19 inch Niche wheels - too big??

Just purchased a nice 2009 C30 R Design. Previous owner had upgraded to a a set of Niche 19" wheels with low profile tires. Now have a serious from end vibration when accelerating. My Volvo shop says the non-standard 19" wheels are causing excess play in the inner joints and I need to back of to the original 18" wheels. Any truth to this or are 19" ok. I checked with Niche customer service and they say the 19" do not cause any undue strain on the joints. Any advice before I pay BIG $$ for new wheels and tires?

It would seem excessive play would be from wear and you may need Cv joints. I would get a second opinion.

Worse case - after upgrading tires and wheels got same wobble. Shop found warped drive axle (right side) and replaced.
