Engine vibration
Hello everyone
I am the second owner of a 2008 C30 with 98K miles. I do have two issues with my car.
a) When I rev my car between 1200 and 1400 rpm there is a vibration but once it pass 1500,1600 t and beyond 2000rpm it goes away
b) When I take off I feel this other engine vibration between 25 to 40 miles but then after that no issues even I get the car to highway speeds of 70 to 80 miles.
I did take the car to my local Volvo dealer and paid for a diagnostic and they stated that the car was fine, there is no engine lights.
At this point it could be a myriad of things and just changing part to see if it works is not an option. Volvo parts are quite expensive and to make matters worse there is not that many mechanics that work on them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
best regards

did the dealer inspect the motor mounts? Does the vibration happen when you are parked and in neutral revving the engine? The lack of a CEL says you probably don't have a misfire issue so its likely something mechanical like a motor mount or an accessory.
reason I asked if the vibration happens when revving in neutral is to get a sense of whether its an engine vibration or a possible road vibration. If it only happens when driving, then you need to consider tires, brake rotors, wheel bearings, axles/CV joints etc
I'm not sure if this is related at all because its a different car but my previous car, 2004 VW r32, had a similar issue. Would vibrate during a specific rpm range. The issue was a bad flywheel. Dunno if it could be the case here because I don't know how these volvos operate and if this is a common issue. I know the flywheel was a common issue on the r32s.
It seems that the vibration is when in neutral for the 1st one, then its engine related which should show a fault code (missfire etc)
The second vibration I assume is when driving so most probably tyres , does the steering also shake a bit?
You need to tell us the model as they have different engines etc
