HI all.
I recently was loaned a C30 whilst my motor was in the garage being fixed.


I have to say it was the first time I had ever driven a Volvo cars. Since then i have been thinking it would make a great car for me.

The only negative Was the lack of power. What is the top spec model and is there a review on it here.

where do you live anyway?

as far as i know, all C30's in the US have the T5 engine... 227 horsepower. which should be pretty quick

The difference between the T5 model and the R model is design cosmetic features, both have the same engine.

 

If you want it more sporty then it already is, then you will have to mod it and it wont be cheap.

 

That is one of the ONLY things keepingme away from the C30 [and it isn't that bad, so it's not keeping me too far, I still REALLY want one] and it really isn't that the engine isn't that powerful, it is, as others said 227 HP...not amazing, but not too bad either...the main problem is the weight...for it's size, the C30 is one fat little machine, which obviously hinders performance a little...This is why the Mini Cooper is quicker and more responsive with only a 100HP engine...

 

The C 30 is a shortened version of the 40 series as I've read. There are several cars with similar configuration (fwd 2 dr. hatch) available. VW GTI for one. But I suspect you'll find them somewhat less comfortable on longer trips.
