The car is dead. I checked the battery and charged it up and its OK put it back in and dome light is flickering, Then I tried to start it up and nothing. Don't think that would be the alternator maybe the starter but why would the lights flicker before I tried to start it? could it be wet wiring or a grounding problem anyone now where I should start

 

A little late to help much, but always check the battery cable connections. Remove the cable, shine up both the inner & outer surfaces with a steel brush tool, reapply and then a bit of grease on top. Bad connection counts for more than half of no-starts.
