Radio stopped working randomly?

So this morning my radio was working on the way to the tire place, I was using the aux to play my music, and I get in my car to leave and all I hear is static/white noise. AM/FM - white noise. USB - white noise. Aux - white noise. I don’t have Sirius XM in this car but if I did, I’d probably just hear white noise. Also when I turn off the stereo completely I still hear white noise. Has anyone had this issue? What could be causing this and how can I still be hearing noise when it’s OFF?

edit: and now it works again. This car is playing with my emotions.

does the white noise change level with the volume control? sounds like an issue with the head unit not connecting the input device (ie tuner, CD, aux) to the preamp, or the preamp output is not feeding the power amp or the power amp is cutting out. I'd probably start by checking for power to the power amp - look for loose connectors or wiring/ground connection issues
