Unhappy Warning sound when turning off ignition

Hi

Just recently my car, a 2011 D2 1.6 ES(127000 miles), started beeping 5 seconds after I turn off the ignition. It is a high pitched tone. It beeps on an off for 10s and then it stops. No other issues with the car.
There is also no warning message given in the HUD of on the radio. Does anyone know what this might be?

Regards
sra

Does it prevent the noise if you remove the key immediately?

No, the sound is there always. As soon as i turn the key from 1 to 0, then it starts beeping after 2 seconds. No matter if I have taken out the key or not.
Could it have to do with the fact that my 2nd key has low battery? Have ordered a new battery and will let you know if anything changes.

There may be a need to update the cars software. I'm not sure how much the dealer charges for this, but there are a variety of software patches that get installed when the dealer services your car, though they may not bother to tell you about it. Last time I got a software upgrade, the warning buzzers for the seat belts no longer worked. Which is fine with me because I don't want warning beepers anyway. But anyway......might be the solution.
