yesterday i went out to start the car and nothing, i mean nothing happened, it didnt turn over or anything. The car has a new battery, the fuel pump kicks on, and it has 25,000 miles on it. after some time and thought I moved the shift lever from park to drive, then back into park. the car fired right up after that. I figured it just wasnt all the way in park, so it didnt start. well today the same thing happened, however I know for a fact the car was all the way in park. just for the heck of it ionce again moved it from park to drive and back to park, this timenothing. I let it sit for the morning, and went outside, and it started right up. what kind of ignition electrical gremlins do these cars normally have? does any of this sound like a normal issue, what am i missing? i dont want to take it somewhere because i know they wont be able to duplicate the problem.

On the transmission there is whats called a PNP switch (Park Neutral position sensor)
It might be going bad or misadjusted. There for when you try to start it the computer thinks the car is in gear.

 

Just had one at work that needed a ecm. Does the check engine light when u turn the key on when it does not start. It was intermittent on a 01 convertible with 80 k. All yeah also i could pull out the enigne fuse a d stick it back in and it would fire right up.
