07 c70 hydraulic line burst
Hi there, new to the forum, just wanted to post about some rare occurrence that even the dealers have never seen before. One of my hydraulic hoses for the convertible top burst And leaked all over the trunk. I took it to the dealer and wouldn't you know, $800 for the parts and labor. Now it's an 07 and I didn't feel comfortable doing this myself even though I am car savvy and the fact that I only saw 2 other posts online about a similar issue. The dealer quoted 5 hours of labor. Yesterday I say screw it, I'm going to take it apart and try to see where this hose goes. One hour later the job is done. One hour by a guy who has never even seen a convertible hydraulic pump setup. So if someone has this issue, I will be posting a step by step in case it can help someone
I have a leak in hydraulic line in the trunk area. It is leaking small amount of fluid in the area of the trunk latch. Has not affected top retraction yet. I have removed the plastic cover, but cannot determine exactly where it is coming from. Where did yours leak? How did you manage the repair? Thank you...
Mine leaked also near the latch and when I opened the cover the inside of it was wet with hydraulic fluid. I ordered a new hose from the dealer after I determined which one of the 30 of them was leaking. I guess the best way to find it would be to leave the cover off, wipe off all of the fluid that leaked and start opening the top. When the trunk lid opens then stop. Now go look and see where the leak is. That's how I fixed mine. There is more to it so if you need help feel free to pm me
I have a hose that blew. A lot of hydraulic oil leaked out. Now the top will not move and I had to pull the release under the rear seat. How do I add more fluid to it. How do I reset the error message
FYI. there is a manual front and rear top lock and rear lock using an Allen wrench. The front is obove the rear view mirror and the rear is inside the trunk door right in the center behind a plastick cover.
Hello , my 2007 c70 has same issue. Able to locate leaking hose. Now I have no idea where hydraulic oil goes. Fittings on hose are like nothing I have ever seen but am assuming will make sense once I remove one. Any input would be great
See my post attached to this thread
I've seen a small leak of semi clear liquid on the floor near my passenger side rear wheel of my 2008 C70. Is that hydraulic fluid? I didn't see anything in the trunk, but really didn't pull anything apart and the top seems perfectly functional.
The lines are generally under the trunk lid carpet. Determine the line that burst. FYI look for zip ties holding them to the lid. That’s what caused my leak. Once it’s replaced the pump is in the bottom of the trunk by the rear seat. It’s self bleeding so fill it up and run the top.
FYI the hose that broke for me was a short one. Some are much longer and will be a giant pain so take caution and don’t damage anything. The hoses have small o rings that you need to reuse so don’t lose it. My new hose didn’t come with. The fluid to fill was specific so make sure to use the right one
