1998 Volvo C70 Manual swap Help Please.
Hello everyone, i'm new to this forum. I purchased a 1998 Volvo C70 HPT, and soon after the slop box went out on me, it wasn't a big deal because i planned on manual swapping it anyways. Pulled the auto out of the car, and then I started my search for all of the parts needed for the swap. After about a month, an owner in CT had contacted me through one of my CL ads. He had a 1998 Volvo S70 T5 with 108k on it that his son had rolled for $600. (Goldmine)
I had no way of taking the whole car with me, so me and some friends went there and pulled the engine and transmission axles, man shifter, pedals, clutch master cylinder, ECU and much more. Here is where i need some help: Every thing is straight forward for me, not my first rodeo with swapping transmissions, but i am waiting on parts from Volvo to put the clutch and flywheel on. However I cant seem to find any information on what to do with wiring: I know how to wire the reverse lights with the blue wires from the TCU plug, but how do i correctly bypass the gear position sensor so the car will start? I read that you have to connect the green, and green red wires for the car to start, tried this and nothing.I also read that when you remove the auto TCU, then some network connections will be broken and you have to reconnect wires in order for this to work. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated
