Default 1999 C70 pass seat problem

I am new to the Volvo forums but after reading a few threads seems you guys are quite the helpful bunch. I have a slight problem where maybe you guys can guide me in the right direction. On my moms 99 C70 the pass seat backrest has completely collapsed. It no longer stays upright. Tried to take the seat apart to see if anything was wrong however everything seems to be in tact. The back portion of the seat will not stay upright so it falls back completely. All the motors still work except the back portion of the seat will not stay up. Strange. Got into the car one day and i leaned back and then the whole portion fell back and since i cant get it to stay up. I have baseball bat holding it up wedged against the back seat. Pretty frustrating unless i can find a replacement seat or install some brace to hold it up. any guidance would be much appreciated. The seats in the C70s are not the greatest since on the driver side seat i had to replace one motor and two modules already.

Thanks in advance

There has to be something you missed while inspecting it inside. Maybe the gearbox is stripped out.

what gearbox are you talking about? The motor that controls the seat in the backrest? if so, like you stated it comes down to being the gearbox is that piece available for purchase?

The gearbox holds the seat into position.
Yes you could buy it.

Did you open the seat to make sure that is the problem?
Yes I can get you a part # but you need to make sure that's it.
I don't want to see you spend all the money if that's not it.

Ok but do you see the rod spinning when the seat tilts foward and back?
Since you have power to it then I would also say the micro switch is still good.
Here is a parts beakdown of the seat.

Then try to listen for the motor itself to spin maybe the plastic gear broke.
