2002 massive oil leak

did you accidentally over fill the oil? when you say in front of motor, do you mean by the timing belt or just the side facing the radiator? I'd start by pulling off the timing belt cover to inspect the cam seals/ VVT hubs (the gears on the top of the timng belt) and the front main seal. If the timing belt is wet with oil, get the leak fixed asap as you don't want a compromised belt to fail and take out all your exhaust valves ($3000 repair). The other possibility is its the turbo's oil return line seal. That's a small fix but can spray oil all over the engine compartment. If the engine itself is oiled up, clean it as best you can with a product like Gunk and then see if you can determine the source.
