Hey all, ive been having a new issue with my car over the past few weeks. Whenever i put my car into reverse and when i finally start putting pressure on the brakes to stop and switch to forward theres a loud clunk noise from the front side and i can feel a pop in the break pedal. Its only when going to full stop after reversing. Breaks seem to still work ok aa evident by my near 75mph accident on a highway earlier today that required me to brake fairly hard. I get a slight break squeal but i changed this breaks probably in january all calipets except for one that was replaced seemed in good condition. And I've has the break squeal since ibe changed the breaks.

any ideas?

when alowly backing up it doesnt pop nut it does sound like theres some grinding along the front axle

 

Mine was wheel bearing, had to change both and did axles also. Might check rotors are not warped also. Copper brake lube on back of pads will stop squeal. Check upper/lower ball joints did mine on my 98 coupe. Use 4 jack stands and floor jack with someone else to check underside while engaging trans. Worked 4 me. Got heavy duty floor jacks @ Harbor Freight parking lot sale cheap. Good luck let us know.

 

Mime ebded up being a loose caliper bolt and a missing caliper bolt so the caliper was floppin about, cheap fix, i work alot so just dropped it off at a shop, 15$. Abd then needed an alignment aswell cus mine was all out of whack. They told me my struts were going bad and my wheels were starting to cup, so might be looking for a new car here soon.
