Hi guys...

My 2004v C70 convertible has developed an issue with the roof. When putting it back up, we started to hear the odd "snap" sound from the right hand side, the middle hinge area. It was only happening randomly, not consistently. Now the issue has gotten worse, last time the snap sound was on both side of the roof, and the roof snapped and hit the top of the windscreen with a big bang, enough to force the cover off the locking part above the mirror, and this leads to the closing getting out of sequence. So we have to lower the roof again slightly, and then it synchronises and lock back in place without issue.

I've found another post on the internet with someone with the exact same issue.

Would anyone have any advise on what could be causing this. I'm wondering if the hinge parts need lubrication but can't seem to find any advise on this.
