In less than a year (10 months) and 5400 miles on the odometer andI have my second URGENT SRS MAINTENANCE REQUIRED message.

The first time it was nothing, and this time it will probably be nothing as well, other than the agravation of the dealer not being able to fix this and wasting my time going to the dealer for as long as I own this car.

A possible source is poor contact in the door connectors. Or water damage to the modules in the doors.

There is a sensor in each door panel which measures air pressure. This helps the SRS system decided to deploy the air bag in a accident. SRS is a very sensitive system.

If it happens once it is a quirk, twice has a cause.

All SRS problems should be left to a dealer. If you don't like the local dealers response to your concerns, try a different dealer. They are all indvidually own and you have no obligantion to bring it to the dealer where you bought it. Just giveas many facts as possibleif you choose to switch whofixes your car.

 

The dealer looked at it once. They said they had some weird codes that made no sense. They reset the SRS and that was it for 8 months or so. Now its back, they dealer said they had to call Volvo's tech line because they did not understand the weird codes (again). Volvo told them to replace some pins on the right side door. However, they had to order the pins because it is not a common problem. I hope this works.
