Default 98 C70 new to me

Hi All

I recently bought a 98 C 70. It is the first car I have bought purely as a toy in many years. It is also my first Volvo. So far I love it.

I have read many post to learn as much as possible from other owners, I am starting to sense volvo owners are almost a cult following

Anyway my probably first of many questions is what do you recommend as repair manual. Haynes or Chilton or are there others that I havn't found on Amazon.com.

Tks
John

PS I have heard the horror stories regarding the window regulators, is there anything I can do to prevent trouble later on?

Nothing to prevent thenm from breaking.

Search E-bay and buy a program called Vadis and it will pretty much tell you anything you need to know.

I believe you will find that if you remove the door panels and lubricate the regulators you will avoid the issues of "defective" regulators. I used synthetic motor cycle chain lube.............sticks well. The Chilton's is as worthless as **** on a wart hog!

Tks for the replies, I atually ordered a Vadis from Ebay last night.

I have another question though, I have noticed on a couple of occasions after the car is turned off and I am doing something around my yard. I have heard a fan type of noise and when I checked it is the A/C fan blowing. Now I know the car is off because I have the keys in my hand as well the only way I can turn off the fan is by putting in the keys and turning it to just before the start postion and then shutting it off again.
Somehow I don't think this is part of the optional epuipment. Any suggestions?

Tks
John

It is normal it is called an AfterBlow function. It turns the fan on to dry the evaperator. This way the evaperator won't develop Mold on it.
