hello....my car was sputtering..... i suggested for them to do the second step of the electronic throttle control... which is clean the module... they told me that my coils were bad.... the funny thin is after i got the car back from them no sputtering but they suggested i change the coil (300) and do oil nipple maintence clean up $700 dollars or so ...so they wanted 1000 .....extortion....(by the way the same thing was estimated for $100 by an independent volvo mechanic.) my question is if the coil is bad is there anyway it will stop sputtering
on its own or are they taking me for a ride.....? cause ill get my money back on the fake estimate

thanks for the honesty

Coils are known to go bad and cause the sputtering.
