Default ABS Problem

I have a 2000 C-70 Coupe. My ABS light is lit. My mechanic read codes which indicated the Left Front Wheel Sensor was bad. Replaced the sensor, cleared the codes and shortly after the repair the ABS light came on again. My mechanic now says it’s the ABS Control Module. He pointed the module out to me and its attached to the under side of the ABS pump. I plan to procure a used module and install it. I understand that the module has to be programmed to my car. Is this a particle solution? Can you use a used module? Any tricks or need to know for getting the old controller off and the new controller on? Recommendation where I can purchase a new controller? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

You can have yours rebuilt for about $100.00.

That site also tells you how to remove it.

The abs unit does not need to be programed to the car. You can install a used one but you do not know the conidtion of the other module. It could have other problems. Here is link to ipd. http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-C70-1998...p-75-526-2217/ In order to replace yourself, you have to get the socket that is recomend.

It's $140 with postage, plus you send it to them....PLUS you have to buy a tool for $14 to take it out. It's probably $155 total with the rebate.

It looks like anyone can do it with the directions online, which are very good. It also give you information about how it affects the speedometer, etc.
