I used this Actron CP9135 on my '01 Honda Insight without any problem for years. But when I tried it on my '10 C70, it reports "Linking Error". And when I used it on my '05 Ford, same problem. So I guess not all scanners are created equal even this one says it can work on cars '96 or newer.

Anybody here knows which model from Actron will work on '10 C70? Also will this kind of scanner delete the Volvo maintenance message?

This software (Software ID: 0d72) tells me that your tool is not CAN compatible, CAN (controller area network) is a faster talking language used on new vehicles. It was not mandated until 2008 by the government, but some manufacturers started as early as 2003 and a few more each year leading up to 2008. There is no update for this tool because it is not cost effective, so the replacement tool is a CP9175.
