Default aftermarket grills

hey, i'm looking on Ebay for a black mesh grill for my car and i see alot of grills for 98 c70s ONLY.

is there any reason why the 98 grills wont fit the 99-2004s?

thanks

A 1998 grille will fit a 1999-2000. Now for 01-04 I do believe they changed the grille slightly. Thusly a grille for an 01-04 wont fit.

The ones on EBAY are cheap. I would suggest buying an IPD USA and or EST mesh grille.

1. Cheap materials.

2. Poorly made.

IPD USA's is made of metal.

EST's is made of ABS Plastic.

I have owned both. An IPD USA grille for my 850 and an EST grille for my s70. Both are great grilles. Might be more money, but IMO it was worth it to get a good product.

Now if you bought an EBAY grille it might not be the worst thing in the world, but then again the customer service could suck greatly if something should go wrong. IPD USA and EST offer great customer service.

I haven't seen it on the C70s, but another alternative is to paint your grille black and leave the chrome edge along with the chrome slash. It looks pretty sharp on the 850s.

I know that they changed the grille at some point but I was under the impression that it was only the colour and style rather than shape... but I also found a number of grilles stating <00 model only so I couldnt be sure.

Most of the ebay ones are quite tacky, I think it's worth the extra for a well made part. I had a eurosport one which I thought looked better than stock, but it wasn't the grille I originally wanted as that was out of stock. It's well made though and didnt chip too badly from road debris.I attached a picture - it may help you decide.

Regards Nathan.

i like your grill Nathanfj, but i like the mesh grill a lil more. i think it gives the front a more "wide open" look.
