Another shake thread for the c70
Fresh meat here and proud owner of an 08 xc90 and a 2000 c70. Well the c70 at 55 and up, has a shake in the steering I can’t seem to track down. It’s so bad I’m having to replace steering parts almost every 6 months. Here’s what’s been done to the car.
both lower control arms with ball joints twice. Inner and out tie rods twice. Rack and pinion cause it had some serious up and down movement in the rack shaft itself. Both axles, both upper strut mounts with ipd heavy duty mount, both strut bearings, bilstien struts, ipd hd end links, twice, sway bar bushings with poly bushings, brakes, rotors, all 4 wheels and tires now with 18’s. The rear suspension I know needs some love as the bushings look a little worn. The tires have been balanced 6 times, aligned twice, and the shake is still there. No play in the axels, or any other part on the front of the car. I know these cars can’t be that sensitive to minor imperfections. Anyone got any idea? I live in Bradenton, fl so if there are any gurus out there willing to help much appreciation will be given.
