A 2002 c70 w/ REALLY good mileage that I am buying. Got a pic of the dash from seller to show mileage. I was concerned with the three lights and tach pegged but was told it was taken right after ignition turned to a certain position. Test Drove the car 20 mIles and cycled ignition numerous times, no lights stayed on and drove well. Moved thr key to position 1 and 2 but never got the same image.

I am amazed at how suspicious people are. If you test drove the vehicle and no issues, then either lay down your money or pass.

You're buying a 16-17 year old car.

Just want to know what I'm getting into. I know these can have ets / etm problems and codes can be cleared lights reset. My daughter will be driving it to college so I'm researching everything to make sure it will be safe and trouble free for a while. Thanks!

In once had a guy who was buying an old 240 sedan for his kid. The car was about 14 years old at the time and he asked if I would put my son or daughter in the car right as he was about to walk away with the car.

My response was, "No, I'd put them in a new Mercedes E class."

He bought the car and didn't say another word.

Why not have the car inspected by a Volvo mechanic?

Well took the plunge, bought the car and drove 1.5 hrs home no problem. It's wierd the car is an 02 but the first title issued is branded dealer buy back in 03 with no miles. This is the first volvo I have messed with so I'll be lurking around learning what I can. Hopefully I won't have to invest too much in the future in keeping it on the road.

I would like to pick up a decent diagnostic package for volvo similar to specific tools i have used with bmw for diagnostics and light coding. Any suggestions?
Also wondering which bluetooth adapter I should get for the sc901 radio. Thanks!
