Dealer say both axles are leaking and need replacing. Unfortunately they want much money. $750 for each part!! Anyone use aftermarket axles from Parts Geek or similar?

 

I don't know what brands they were because I didn't install them, but I've seen plenty of bad aftermarket axles. You get what you pay for.

 

We've been using an aftermarket axle for years. They come through as new, not rebuilt. We won't install rebuilt axles.

We use company called APWI and have had no issues.

 

I put a couple Cardone on for $40, lifetime guarantee. I don't know how long they'll last, but for $40 and an hour of time, why not? Worth a try.

 

I totally agree. Although I do not use rebuilt axles, Cardone has a good reputation.

 

FCP euro sells OEM axles made in Spain for around $350 each.

 

I used a very patient shop, who put 2 different aftermarket axles on, both had vibration. They finally said enough was enough and we put Volvo axles on. Worked like a charm, but drained the bank account. They have a donut counter weight on the axel themselves, the others didnt.
