Brake Job. parts ordered
I ordered the Brembo/Akebono kit from FCPGroton and it should be here in a few days. Anything special to the remove/replace or can I just plan on a simple caliper removal/piston compress and replace?
Tech, Do the caliper pistons not need to be compressed with these calipers (front and rear). and is the "locator pin" noted in the VADIS an issue or is it just a light friction fit?
Also, do you happen to remember caliper screw torques and lugnut torque values?? TIA

yeah.. gonna pay my local shop 50 bucks to do the messy work.. just not gonna pay them the big bills to change out the hardware..... Ive gotten picky about what Ill do myself in my old age... anyone got a word about having to compress the pistons?
You do not indicate what year c70 you own. If it is the first iteration then yes, the pistons need to be compressed. Do not forget to not only lube the calipers but also the pins. You should also spray a bit of CRC brake 'quiet' on the back of your pads. As to bleeding the system..........two items come to mind: first............you surely are not older than I................I perform that messy job, and second...........if indeed you do go to an independent shop MAKE SURE THE SHOP USES DOT 4 fluid.
