Default Brakes 17" wheel

Went to buy brakes for me 2000 C70. The parts store only list brakes for 15 and 16 inch wheels. Of cousre they do not have any in stock to match. Will the brakes for 16" wheels work on a C70 with 17" wheels.

Except the 17 inch rims have larger rotors.

Sorry I didn't specify clearly. All the Pads are the same. Front and rear.
Thanks for catching that REG!!

Is there any caliper upgrades for the larger rotors on the 17 inch wheeled Volvo's? Such as Brembo or Wildwood?

Are you 100% sure about the rotors on 17 inch wheel cars. It looks like my rotor is smaller than my rear one. Or, its an illusion, I dont know. Im also about ready for a brake job and looking to upgrade to cross drilled

Yes, the 'factory' 17 inch wheel fitment uses an approximate one inch larger diameter rotor. The caliper is the same as the 16 inch wheel fitment. Perhaps someone has swapped the larger wheels to an original 16 inch auto. And no..............the rear rotors are conciderable smaller than the fronts.

Yes there are brake upgrades.

For example you can purchase the, 302mm rotors instead of the 280mm rotors that come stock. Or upgrade to the big boys and get a Big Brake Kit where everything is replaced. 302 shown below.
http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/Mercha...Code=VL-C70-br
Also there are other 302mm brakes listed on that site.

Example the Porsche big brake kit seen below.

Here is another 302 kit. Seen below

Here is another 302mm option. Below

WP also makes a BBK (Big Brake Kit). Shown below.

Sorry, but that's not entirely true.

I've owned two C70 HPT's both outfitted with 17 inch wheels from the factory.

My 1998 Coupe had 11 inch rotors, even though it came from the factory with the larger wheels.

Even more baffling, my 2004 C70 HPT convertible with 17 inch factory equipped Propus wheels also had 11 inch rotors on the front, which have since been upgraded by me to the larger size.

So, even while in theory the 17 inch/18 inch rim cars SHOULD have the larger rotors, some don't for whatever reason.

However, the pads are in fact the same, along with the front calipers.

The best thing to do is measure your rotors. I have the stock 17s and I know the rears are 1 size from what I gather. The fronts is when the parts guy asks about rims size
