Being old school and having had many softtop convertibles, I'm wondering about drivers' opinions of the hard drop tops. They look like they take a tremendous amount of trunk space and have a level of complexity that concerns me. I'm thinking of getting an '05 but sometimes later convertibles are cheaper so I'm curious how well the later tops work.

 

The top does take up a good deal of space when down, but it's still a reasonable amount of space. I've used the car for roadtrips and had not challenge fitting luggage for two people in the trunk.

I've actually had more trouble with the headliner in my C70 than the roof or the hydraulic systems.
