Hey Everyone, i need some advice. I have a 2001 c70 convertible with the 2.3 hpt motor. Im do for an oil change, and in the past i have always stuck with synthetic, my question is: Do i need to? The dealership says regular is just fine. Should i switch and go regular? The dealership charges $50 for the service.

 

You'll get mixed opinions either way. $50 is fair for the work and materials.

 

i went ahead and had the dealership do it. they said i shouldn't even notice a difference in the regular oil. im sure they are right. But they said deffinetly use premium fuel. which i already do.

 

If you're in a hot summer climate, the turbo needs the protection of synthetic. Also, switching off the engine right away after climbing a mountain is not too healthy for it.

 

Actually i live in northwest Indiana near chicago. so, hot weather is kinda rare. But i see what you mean. thanks everyone for all the help.
