C70 sun visors
I have had problems with the C70 sun visors breaking. The first one was the drivers side I took apart and repaired/rigged it to work. If you look close you can see where I did the repair but it works. Now the passenger side is broken. The way its broken I'm not sure I can repair/rig it. I ask the dealer how much they were, they quoted $300. I say no way, another example of highway robbery. I will not spend $300 for a sun visor. I wish they would come out of the marijuana field because they are nuts...
My only option is to attempt to repair/rig. Has anyone had similar problems with them? If so, what was your experience. Is there a less expensive sun visor somewhere or used? Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Guy

Try Ebay, though I have not seen the type I have with a sliding door on the visor there are several people selling them with flip doors over the mirrors for V70's so I think they would fit.

Mine has broken for the second time in 5 years too. Volvo paid the first time but will not as it is out of warranty. This has got to be a common problem for C70's and I agree with you about the highway robbery part. Can you e-mail me pictures of your fix.
Thanks

The visors in my C70 were just replaced for the second time in 3 years. I think there is a serious design flaw. The first time, Volvo service grudgingly covered them under warranty, but this time, although the car is still under warranty, they refused to submit it as a warranty repair. The cost was $400, plus replacing the car battery, which the broken visor wiring killed. I am going to complain to the company, and would like to research how much of a problem these visors have become. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
