Default C70 torque Steer

Hey guys, when I put my foot down i get tremendous amounts of torque steer, so much so that if i didnt have 2 hands on the wheel ide end up in a wall somewhere. Now ive driven more powerfull cars before and ive had it for over 2 months now and am used to driving it but upon putting the foot down it feels like it want to break free !!!! could there be other issues involved, like steering or engine mounts or something ?

I do notice that the front feels very loose, ie; it rattle going over bumps etc.

Anyone able to shed some light ?

Ice, the front end on the C70 was tuned by Walkinshaw, it was a D-student effort. BMW ate Volvo for lunch on this one. I've whined about a solution for sloppy tracking before, but so far, have not had the extra funds to solve it. Here's what you do: The end links are the worst problem, get aftermarket ones as heavy as you can find, thicker roll bars, and all-new polyurethane bushings wherever you can put them. There are some control arms out there with tighter bushings as well. I've not been able to find polyurethane rack bushings yet, and am considering making my own. You might go for upper and lower strut braces if you're flush with cash, too. Stiffer shocks would do you well. Just be sure you replace the upper strut mounts and bump stops, as I've put a strut through a hood long ago for not replacing those.

The main issue with Volvo is that they placed the engine in an East/West position and therefore use unequal half shafts. Now Audi on the other hand use the conventional method of North/South with equal shafts and no torque steer. The East/West configuration is used simply so that the mfg can obtain a larger cabin and yet keep a shorter wheelbase. Some of the newer mfgs who use the east/west method now use some sophisticated electronics to control things...............Volvo didn't. Remember that your c70 is not a sports coupe but rather a sporty coupe built on the 850 platform. It was never meant to handle............consider the 4000 pound weight vs for instance less than 3000 for the sports vehicles. As it is said in Alabama.............git used to it sport.
