Hello, we just purchased a 2001 C70 with the 5spd auto. We,ve put around a thousand miles on it and now when its cold it seems to slip from 2nd to 3rd gear. I checked the fluid and it's fulll but brown in color. I am thinking of doing a fluid change with mobil 3309. Will this help my problem?

 

Hi, I have a C 70 convert. with 80,000. I put Toyota t-5 in my trans and had nothing but trouble. For 3 months it slipped and banged into gear all the time. After changing again with the right Volvo fliud all my problems stopped within the first ten feet of driving.
I googled the right fluid and found it for about $70 to do the fluid change.
I have about a couple of 1000 miles after the fliud change with no problems.

Hi there Olga. I have 2001 V70. The transmission was acting very weird, banging in and out of gears. We checked the transmission fluid and forget about brown it was black and it wasnt even moving my fingers smoothly, forget about moving the clutches. I researched the transmission fluid and found Mobil 3309 but did'nt want to take a chance, went to my local volvo dealer and got the fluid from them, changed it and everything started running very smoothly. Just make sure you get the right fluid, whatever it says in the manual. P.S. I had all sorts of codes from the transmission like clutch position sensor etc... and after changing the fluid all the codes went away and never came back. Hope this helps.
