Default Car revs but no go

Hey guys, I have an audi a4 but here for my mom actually haha

We were on the highway and the car started to rev but not move anywhere while in drive after about 15min of driving. The temperatures were all fine, no smells from under the hood. It is a 1999 c70 with like 95000+ miles on it..
We took it to the dealer to have them look at it, they said it threw no codes and was running fine.
The trans fluid was black, but they replaced that..
today it happened AGAIN.. so im not sure what's wrong? almost like the clutch is out but obviously.. thats not the case being autom.

Is this a common problem? Has it happened to anyone else here?

Please let me know! and thanks in advanced

-Chris

Possibly a gear position sensor out of adjustment or failing?

yeah it was scanned by them, they have been trying to replicate what happened but cannot (always happens like that right?) the weird thing is i would say trans, but wouldn't it do that anytime if the trans was slipping? it's almost as if the car puts itself into park when in drive..

Well, Volvo found the problem, turns out seals in the trans are bad or something so it needs to be rebuilt... Oh what fun thanks for your help though svt
