Default Clonking from front end when turning very slowly

HI,

I have recently bought a 2001 C70 manual.
I am experiencing a clonking/cracking noise when turning left or right at very slow speed.
Is this likely to be CV's, bushes or linkiages?
There was a small leak of steering fluid but I believe I have cured this by adding Lucas steering fluid adititive which seems to have worked.

Can anyone please some light on these events. Thanks

Default Did you cure this?

Hi. I just bought an 03 C70 Cab (2T) and have the same issue. Did you find a cure? I was told by a friend its to do with the power steering needing adjustment.

A couple of things have cropped up since I bought the car and am hoping I have not bought a lemon. It only has 46k miles on the clock so the engine should be fine.

Default C70 Clonking on front end

Hi, Yes I have seemingly cured my problem. The cheapest option and it appears to have worked on mine, is to get hold of some copper grease and paste some onto the two stops at the front of the front wheels.

You need the copper or similar grease, normal grease will just wash off very quickly, and you may need to re do this every 3/4 months. It appears to have worked and the noise has all but gone.

Best of luck.
