Converting a C70 to AWD

Converting a C70 to AWD
Alright, I guess firstly I should say I'm probably not planning on doing this, ( well you never know, if its feasible......) I frequent another board, which seems to have a really amazing bunch of members, who don't hesitate to chop apart a car to see what they can do to it. i.e. Make it a targa, make it AWD, slap on Twin turbos or a stroker.
This has got me thinking has anyone ever tried to make an AWD c70. My boss drives a 3000 GT VR4 sypder, and its a blast to drive an AWD turbo car with the top down. So I just briefly looked and see the v70s are the same motor as a c70 and I would gather they are on the same platform. Would it be as simple as slapping on a new rear end, a transfer-case, a new tranny, and a driveshaft...... and custom fabbing up a few parts here and there?
Is the AWD system on a Volvo so complex, and controlled by a computer to make this impossible? OR maybe weight is more of an issue. making the car a slug afterwards??
I'm pretty mechanically inclined ( and have friends who are moreso ) and I'm in the midst of rebuilding a jeep as a rock crawling toy. So I'm not afraid of tackling something complex. As it seems most parts on this thing (the jeep) are all being fabricated

RE: Converting a C70 to AWD
What makes it suck. I've never driven a Volvo AWD. I had a talon, and it was fantastic. I cant see having more traction having any bad effects? Its not like the C70 is a super awesome performing car by any means. Unless the whole system adds a thousand pounds I cant see why this would not be a decent idea.

Volvo's AWD disconnects at 30 MPH then turns to FWD only.
The driveshafts go bad very often and cost about $2,000 each time.

Yeesh, Switching to FWD at 30 is the nail in the coffin. Forget that, thats dumb. Just out of curiosity though. Is this done via some sort a computer control, or a mechanical control. Is the reason for this, to create resistance drag at high speeds ( for gas millage reasons)
