Converting an '83 AW70 to an M47 Question
Hey,
I found a guy who the entire M47 assembly (from the transmission back to he differential) available from an '87 parts car, and I'd really prefer this to an M46 as I wouldn't have to deal with the electronics of that overdrive setup. However, my one concern is the speedometer. From what I can figure out the M47 doesn't have any allotment for a cable drive speedometer. Is that the case, since it's based off of the earlier transmissions that were did connect to the cable drives? And if so, is it possible to install an electrically driven speedo run from the differential of the 87? I guess I can always run the mileage up to match what is on the car if I had to get a different gauge.
