Driver Roof Door Seal and Window Mechanism

Driver Roof Door Seal and Window Mechanism
I have a 2002 Volvo C70 Convertible LT, and I am having an issue with the drivers side widow sealing properly when you shut the door. The passenger side door seals fine still, and I was wondering if I could get some help? I am a real novice with this sort of stuff, but I can learn fast. I believe the issue is within the window mechanism. I know most convertibles have a system that lowers the window a millimeter or two when you're shutting the door so it can seal properly, and I believe the passenger side door has this mechanism and is working properly. However the drivers side door remains static when you shut it and a 6 inch section of the window rests in front of the seal which causes a whistle when I drive. I was hoping that someone could tell me if I was completely wrong about the problem, or how to fix it, or if its such a complex problem its easier just to live with. Right now I am just rolling the window down and back up a little bit when i drive to fix the seal, and pushing the window in place when I park and shut the door from the outside. Thanks for your time. -Ky
