engine hesitation
09 C70, 95K miles. Gas T5. Engine hesitates from time to time upon acceleration. Feels like its running out of gas maybe? Does not do it all the time. No Check Engine light. I bought a fuel filter for it, then found out my car does not have one. I was having High Fuel Rail pressure. I unplugged the sensor and plugged it back in. OK so far.
I think this is a fairly widespread issue. I occasionally get it when turning a corner, and I’ve heard others with the same complaint. I recently changed plugs on my 2013, even though they only had 30K miles on them, and it surprisingly made a noticeable difference!
Ok, that's good to know. I read before that using original Volvo spark plugs, though more expensive, can make a real difference. At 30K miles they are not supposed to have to be replaced, but it's a relatively cheap and easy thing to try, so why not.
Mine had the original FoMoCo plugs, which they replaced with Volvo/Bosch. I wish I was equipped to do it myself!
Your description sounds exactly like like what I’ve experienced, and other owners have reported the same. The Volvo dealership said “they couldn’t duplicate the problem”. SURE... Like there haven’t been many, many others with the same issue.
