Engine tapping after turbo replacement
Hello all,
I have a 2008 C70 t5 with 125k. After noticing I was losing oil my mechanic said the turbo was damaged and that I should get rid of the car. I didn't want to dump it on some poor sap and CARMAX offer $3k for it so I decided to invest in a new turbo. After having the repair I'm getting engine tapping at certain RPM. It sounds fine when idling and at low RPM/higher gears. Fuel economy has been normal.
Any thoughts on whether my engine would be damaged or my mechanic could have installed the turbo incorrectly. I'm taking it to a more trustworthy mechanic next week and would appreciate any opinions to help me make a better decision on having work done on it. Much thanks.
