Default intake.....

Hey guys....I would like your opinion please. I thought I would slap together an cone intake for my c70. After looking at it I came to the opinion I might as well buy one with the MAF sensor and all. I looked on two sites including EVOLVE and IPD. IPD is selling a system with an oiled KNN filter. I remember back in the day you mentioned that oiled filters are bad. Further, when I went to the IPD site....

I read that they do not recommend even putting in an aftermarket filter. They said you may fry the ECM and also get oil in the MAF sensor which is bad. I question if its worth doing or not. Are the risks significant? What do you say?

Too much oil on the filter will result in your MAF either failing or you will need to do frequent cleaning of the MAF. Incidentally, CRC makes a fine product for cleaning your MAF.

Do what ever you want....but yes....over oiling the filter is bad.

If you fear over oiling....AEM had dryflow filters (No oil).

Default ECM problems?

What about the ECM frying since the vent from intake is not hitting it? Is that a risk?

thanks!
