Default Interior Faux Wood Grain Cracking

I have a 2001 Volvo c70 coupe and the interior faux wood grain trim that is around the gear shifter unit is cracking. I’m considering a dash repair kit that adheres over the original trim or researching on how to purchase an original part from Volvo. Has anyone had any experience with this issue?

New from a dealer they can be pretty pricey. Just look on ebay and find a nice used one in the same wood grain, but in better condition than yours. Think I paid $20 for my last one. BTW, it is easy to swapout, plus it should be REAL wood and not the faux.

I have one for sale here, assuming it's the same wood pattern.

Plus, if memory serves the rear ashtray is not wood grain on the C70 (could be wrong), so my lot would give you a little upgrade as well.

The wood grain parts from the dealer are INSANELY expensive. If you don't want mine find a used one, a laminate will not look quite right with the rest of it.

That particular piece on mine is actually the faux wood.
